Dimensions : 10 × 10 × 0,2 cm

Deux feuilles de papier Arches 300 g/m² 100% coton sont superposées, le grain fin est superposé au grain torchon.

La feuille inférieure est peinte à l’aquarelle bleu cobalt – cyan en arrière-plan

La feuille supérieure a été traitée au réactif cyanotype et lavis d’encre, elle est percée d’une fenêtre centrale de 3 × 3 cm

L’œuvre est également brodée : Une petite lune est cousue dans la petite fenêtre

Une autre lune est cousue en bas à gauche. Les marges sont cousues en zigzag de fil blanc pour maintenir les deux feuilles.

L’œuvre est signée au dos.

Effet visuel et ressenti

Cette composition s’ouvre sur un carré d’un bleu azur, ponctué d’une lune brodée. Le réactif cyanotype a fusionné aux lavis d’encre : les pigments glissent, se mêlent et se densifient pour composer un paysage abstrait où la matière picturale respire et s’élance.

Au cœur de l’œuvre, un liseré blanc en zigzag dessine les bords de la découpe centrale ; sous nos yeux, cette frontière n’est pas peinte mais tissée. Chaque point de broderie souligne les contours, ajoutant un relief délicat. Le contraste entre la douceur du bleu et la précision du fil crée une tension subtile, comme si le geste de l’aiguille structurait l’énergie indomptée du pigment.

Dialogue des techniques

En associant cyanotype, encre et broderie, l’artiste fait dialoguer photographie ancienne et écriture textile : la chimie solaire rappelle la trace du temps, tandis que l’aiguille inscrit la présence humaine, mémoire vibrante de la main. L’ensemble évoque un écho entre surface et profondeur, légèreté chimique et résistance du fil, deux univers fusionnés et pourtant toujours distincts.

Two sheets of Arches 300 gsm 100% cotton paper are layered, the fine grain superimposed on the cloth grain.

The lower sheet is painted in cobalt blue watercolor – cyan in the background.

The upper sheet has been treated with cyanotype reagent and ink wash, and is pierced with a central 3 × 3 cm window.

The work is also embroidered: A small moon is sewn into the small window.

Another moon is sewn in the lower left corner. The margins are zigzag-stitched with white thread to hold the two sheets together.

The artwork is signed on the back.

Visual effect and feel :

This composition opens with an azure blue square, punctuated by an embroidered moon. The cyanotype reagent merges with the ink washes: the pigments glide, blend, and thicken to create an abstract landscape where the pictorial material breathes and soars.

At the heart of the work, a zigzag white border outlines the edges of the central cutout; before our eyes, this border is not painted but woven. Each embroidery stitch emphasizes the contours, adding a delicate relief. The contrast between the softness of the blue and the precision of the thread creates a subtle tension, as if the needle’s movement were structuring the untamed energy of the pigment.

Dialogue of Techniques

By combining cyanotype, ink, and embroidery, the artist creates a dialogue between old photography and textile writing: solar chemistry recalls the trace of time, while the needle inscribes human presence, the vibrant memory of the hand. The whole evokes an echo between surface and depth, chemical lightness and the strength of the thread, two worlds fused yet always distinct.

The artwork is mounted in a 3 mm wood-based mat laminated with 200 g/m² black paper.

The entire piece is framed in a frame with black wood strips and a glass panel.
